Dude, tech week has NOTHING on the hell week I just had.
All week, I'd been getting progressively more sleep-deprived and cranky, kind of like Alex in Marble Hornets. I tacked it up to school work and being busy, when in reality, it was anxiety.
Then on Friday I had my audition, I was tired, moody, and getting sick. (congestion, coughing, etc.)
I walked into the room, and gave Mrs. DeNobile my papers, introduced myself. Then I asked her to give me a moment, and I prepped. I pulled off my glasses, took a second to imagine, and did the whole thing. (Though I did kick myself later because I missed a line.)
She liked me. She said I was good. She was hesitant about my age, seeing as it's hard to get people auditions for things when they're under 18. (CURSE YOU, 17th AGE. I SHAKE MY FIST AT YE.)
She told me to keep working hard this year, until I turn 18, but she made no reference to her liking me enough to pick me up or not.
The second I walked out that door and tackled Dan in a hug to thank him for bringing me into New Mystics. Everything melted away the second I was out of that room. The grump, the sleepiness, the sickness. All of it went away and I felt ten feet tall.
Yeah man.
